Yauatcha (Bandra Kurla Complex)

Yautcha -  A recent entrant to my list of favorites for Chinese. This place scores 10/10 on ambience, quality of food, service.  My bossy and me went to this place for a quick lunch. We ordered Dumplings and Noodles with toppings of choice.

Dumplings very soft, tasty and did go quite well with the sauces served on the table. The Noodles were awesome, one of the best I have tried so far.

The only drawback I felt was on the price front as the proportions are quite small.
Damage for 2 : 1400 + taxes ( 4 dumplings and a small bowl of noodles)

Thai food festival @ Red Olives

On a lovely Wednesday evening, post office I decided to head onto sampling some nice Thai delicacies at Red Olives. There is a Thai Food festival going on till 2nd September where you can try out different kinds of soups, salads, mains n a few desserts as well.

This time we planned to have an early dinner & reached around 7.30 pm. The waiter was quite courteous & promptly gave us some nice suggestions. We started with a salad called as 'Thung Tong' which was a nice mix of bean sprouts, red bell pepers, water chestnuts, mushrooms on a bed of lettuce which a sweet n spicy dressing. Simply Awesome !!!, the salad was fresh n was very cruncy with a rather sweet and spicy after taste.

As per waiters recommendation we next ordered Thai style wontons with corn, cheese, spinach & water chestnut filling which served with a sweet n spicy style dip. I loved the wontons & its fillings. Somehow Shalin is not so fond of Spinach and this dish dint go to well with him.

For the mains, we sticked onto our patent order Thai Herb Rice and medium spicy Thai Red Curry (without the mushrooms). My would be hubby doesn't like mushrooms, while I love them so much. As expected the Thai curry did not dissapoint us & I m sure at Red Olives every time I have been I have got a similar tasting Thai Curry.

Overall the food is good. This place is a bit expensive specifically when you have to shell out a 12.5% Service Charge + a VAT+ Service Tax over and above your bill.

Meal for 2 with a beer: 1800 bucks
Worth it ?? ahmmm for food yes, for taxes May be !!

Oven Fresh wid my MBA Pals

My this blog is dedicated to my super cool (kewl) gang of friends with whom I have spent my 3 years of my MBA and have some great memories to share. So, a big round of thanks to Alpesh (the Dude) of our gang, Rajashree (the Ms Gayab), Kunal (my buddy with whom my views never sync, so we had a debate on each topic), Shyam (I call him Shyam bhai, an elder brother figure to me), Siddhesh (Mr Beat of our gang), Pallavi (who is blessed with a cute baby boy and the Naari Shakti Andolan of our gang) & last but not least Sahil (who we all dearly miss post our 2nd year of MBA).

Oven fresh is the Mecca for Italian food lovers. We tried loads of things from Nachos with cheese sauce, sizzlers, cheese fondue, sandwiches, onion rings, amazing desserts.. All of which was so very yummy. I also picked up a few muffins and a long loaf of bread on my way back home.

In all an amazing place, little bit of wait time but the food and service makes for it :)
